Miller and FBI Special Agent Matt Desarno confirmed that the suspect had died in the shooting incident, without providing further details. 

Desarno indicated that they know the identity of the suspects, but they refused to reveal his name.

The hijacker was carrying backpacks and said he had explosives, and law enforcement officials did not say at the press conference if he was actually carrying explosives.

The Associated Press reported that Siddiqui is a Pakistani neuroscientist, with similar links to al-Qaeda, and the kidnapper wanted to talk to her.

Officials said there was no evidence that the incident was part of a larger plot, but police are now investigating the suspect's links.

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett also confirmed on Saturday evening that he is closely following the latest developments in the hostage-taking in a synagogue in the US state of Texas.
